Summary

Ever seen the movie or played the game "Silent Hill"? Did you know it's based on a real town?!

Centralia, PA. has been on fire for over 60 years. In the mid 60s firefighters allegedly attempted to clean up the town landfill, which was located in an abandoned strip-mine pit, by lighting the dump on fire to let it burn for some time. This had been done before, only this time, the fire spread through an opening in the pit, into the labyrinth of mines running below Centralia... and it's been raging over since.
