episode of Cult Heroes, first released for patrons in November 2019. This week we discuss

two coaches, Bielsa and Mendeleba, whatever happened to those two. Now of course, some

of our conversation is a little bit out of date now, given what these two have been

up to over the last couple of years, but I think it's still a good listen nonetheless.

Hello patrons, welcome to TSFP Presents Cult Heroes, the latest episode in this series

of podcasts where we look back at players who have had a big impact on their clubs for

one reason or another. This week we're not talking about players, we're talking about

two managers who have had huge impacts in a particular part of Spain or, well, I mean,

it is technically Spain, the vast country. Let's not get into that.

Let's look into that, Northern Spain, the vast country. Those two managers are Bielsa and

Mendeleba, names that, I think everybody listening to this.

Yeah, yeah. I think everyone listening to the podcast is familiar with those names, of

course, of course, Luis Mendeleba, is the current manager of ABAR, more on him in a moment,

Bielsa. Where do we start? Well, obviously, he had a, he had a couple of seasons at athletic

club, a couple of crazy seasons. It's amazing. It was only two, actually, because it feels

like there are so many stories from such a short space of time, yeah, although it was

only ever going to be two seasons, wasn't it? Really?

Because the burnout factor is so high, if that was always quite likely, yes.
