Hi friends, happy Easter. He is risen. Welcome to a very special end of a very special week on the That Sounds Fun podcast. I'm your host Annie F. Downs and I'm so happy to be here with you today. It is the end of Holy Week, the week between Palm Sunday and Easter.

And each day, I've been reading the stories from the Gospels. That's Matthew, Mark, Luke,

and John that coincide with this exact day. And we finish up today on Easter Sunday, reading out of

my Bible I've used for 20 plus years,

NIV version. And as always, I will read to you from Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John

so you can hear four perspectives of the best day ever. Happy Easter, friends. We will start in

Matthew 28, and I will start in verse one. After the Sabbath,

at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.

There was a violent earthquake for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and going to the tomb,

rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning and his clothes were white as

snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. The angel said to the

women, do not be afraid, for I know that you are

looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here. He has risen just as he said. Come and see the place

where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples, he has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you and to

Galilee and there you will see him now I have told you so the women hurried away from the tomb

afraid yet filled with joy and ran to tell his disciples and suddenly Jesus met them

greetings he said they came to him clasped his feet and suddenly Jesus met them. Greetings, he said. They came to him, clasped his feet

and worshipped him. And then Jesus said to them, do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to

Galilee and there they will see me. And now Mark 16 and we will do verses 1 through 13.

When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary, the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so they might go to anoint Jesus's body.

Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the

tomb and they asked each other, who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?
