0:11.3	And we're joined today by our good friend, Dr. Tom Nettles, who is in town lecturing for the Institute of Public Theology, doing part one of church history.

0:21.8	on The Sword and the Trial. Oh, my pleasure. How are your lectures going? Well, I have not had the
0:27.2	courage to ask the students how they think they're going. Well, I have. I've asked them,
0:32.0	and I've gotten great feedback. Oh, good. Well, it feels good to go through Church History One again and to remind myself of so many of the things that the early church went through and how it responded in so many different situations.
0:47.2	And I'm reminded that the church has to do that in every age.
0:51.1	And if we can engage it with as much grace and with much concern for internal
0:56.8	spirituality of the church and for external witness and duplicate the spirit of the early church
1:02.6	and that, then we'll be real close to the will of God. And we need to do that today, especially.
1:08.9	So, yeah, well, good. Appreciate you doing that.
1:11.3	We got a few things to talk to you about before we get into a conversation with Dr. Nettles about history and specifically Baptist history, more specifically, Baptist history here in America in the last 40 to 50 years or so.
1:22.2	It'd be, we've had private conversations about this last several days.
1:25.8	It's been very, very beneficial.
