0:09.7	I'm Graham Gundin. Founders Ministries is committed to the recovery of the gospel and the reformation of local churches.
0:15.6	We appreciate you joining us today for this conversation.
0:18.7	Yeah, we often talk about that, our mission as a ministry, the
0:23.2	recovery of the gospel and the Reformation of local churches. So we should talk today a little bit
0:28.3	about what that means, how we go about doing that and what that's looked like over the years
0:33.2	at founders. Yeah, it's a good question. People ask that periodically and want to know what founders
0:38.7	is, how founders got started, and are we still staying true to our mission? Of course, founders began
0:45.4	back in 1982. In fact, 1983 was our first conference, which means next year's conference will be
0:52.7	in celebration of our 40th anniversary as a ministry.
0:57.0	And we began in the midst of the inerrancy controversy in the SBC particularly,
1:01.7	but in the broader evangelical world.
1:03.3	Things were going on in different seminaries and different Christian organizations,
1:07.4	Parachurch ministries and such to try to recover the full authority of
1:13.0	scripture in the minds and hearts and minds of God's people and in various institutions.
1:19.5	And man, that was raging in the early 80s in the SBC. And those of us who got together to
1:26.6	establish what became founders' ministries, we were all committed
1:30.5	inerrant us, but we also recognized that we're going to have to decide what that inerrant
1:35.0	scripture actually teaches and wanting to consider the sufficiency of scripture, knowing that
1:39.8	that's also an issue. And we were committed to the doctrines of grace. So we were all reformed in our
1:44.9	understanding of the doctrine of salvation. And we knew that the founders of the SBC were also
