Yeah, we often talk about that, our mission as a ministry, the

recovery of the gospel and the Reformation of local churches. So we should talk today a little bit

about what that means, how we go about doing that and what that's looked like over the years

at founders. Yeah, it's a good question. People ask that periodically and want to know what founders

is, how founders got started, and are we still staying true to our mission? Of course, founders began

back in 1982. In fact, 1983 was our first conference, which means next year's conference will be

in celebration of our 40th anniversary as a ministry.

And we began in the midst of the inerrancy controversy in the SBC particularly,

but in the broader evangelical world.

Things were going on in different seminaries and different Christian organizations,

Parachurch ministries and such to try to recover the full authority of

scripture in the minds and hearts and minds of God's people and in various institutions.

And man, that was raging in the early 80s in the SBC. And those of us who got together to

establish what became founders' ministries, we were all committed

inerrant us, but we also recognized that we're going to have to decide what that inerrant

scripture actually teaches and wanting to consider the sufficiency of scripture, knowing that

1:39.8

that's also an issue. And we were committed to the doctrines of grace. So we were all reformed in our

understanding of the doctrine of salvation. And we knew that the founders of the SBC were also
