My beloved brothers and sisters in Islam, it is important that we maintain the

consciousness of Allah. It is important that at all times we are conscious of

the presence of Allah, the fact that He hears everything, the fact that He sees

everything, the fact that we are in absolute need of Allah, we are unsurpassable to Him.

Indeed Allah, has sent down to us the most beautiful way of life. If we were to

follow it we would definitely achieve success in this world in the next. Today I

would like to spend a few moments on a specific point that is of extreme

importance for every single one of us and that is the point of truthfulness.

Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, says, Ya ayuhal la lina aamanut tukhullah wa kumunum al-saditim.

O you who believe, be conscious of Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala and ensure that you are only in the company of the truthful.

If it is so important to be in the company of the truthful, then what do you think is the virtue of

being truthful yourself? It's important we understand that truthfulness starts with a person

being truthful in his or her relation with Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. I cannot be a truthful

person if I am not true to my Maker. The one who made me deserves to be worshipped alone.

No association of any form of partnership with Him. If I do that, I will not be truthful.

But if I worship Him alone and I learn His qualities, His names, understand who He is,

why He has made me, where I am and the fact that I am heading in His direction.

I shall return to Him. If I am conscious of that and I work towards that all the time,

then I will be truthful in my relation with my Maker.

If I am from amongst those who fulfill my obligation, that He has put on my shoulders,

then I am truthful unto Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. I cannot claim to be truthful to my Maker
