The book of Hebrews has one simple theme made up of three words.

Never give up.

It is a call for Christians not to quit pursuing their faith and following Christ during the hard times.

In Hebrews chapter 4, verse 2 he says, for indeed we had the good news preached to us just as they also but the word they heard did not profit them

because it was not united by faith in those who heard he said they had good news preach to them

the promised land but the good news preached to them did not profit them.

So you can have preaching that does not profit.

That is, you can have preaching that does not benefit.

And he says the reason that the good news did not benefit them is that it was not united by faith.
