| 0:42.0 | Today I'm going to be talking to you about the truth with potential and I want to start off by giving you an analogy. |
| 0:50.0 | I want you to think about this. Have you ever sat in thought about how amazing a seed is? How amazing a seed is inside of it? Like a seed is this little teeny tiny thing. |
| 1:02.0 | And inside of it is the potential for a beautiful flower inside of it is the potential to make a massive tree. |
| 1:12.0 | But if we just let's take a flower as an example, right? If you think about a gardener and a flower in the relationship that the two of them have, right? Like we're right now we have wild flowers all of the place in Austin and they're beautiful. They're all over the place. |
| 1:29.0 | But if we just look at like a flower and a gardener and the relationship that two of them have, what is the gardener's job if he's trying to grow a flower? |
| 1:39.0 | What is it? Answer it to yourself. What is a gardener's job if he is trying to make that flower grow? |
| 1:45.0 | It's to allow the seed to become what it's supposed to become. Not to change it, not to force it, not to make it do anything, but to allow it the space that it needs and everything that it needs to become what it can become. |
| 2:00.0 | To give it space, to nurture it and to create the space for it to bloom to its highest capacity. Right? That is to water it. That is to give it sun. |
| 2:11.0 | That is to make sure that it has the air that it needs, that it has every single thing that it needs. Not to force it, not to tell it what to do, not to try to sit there and bend it so that it goes in the direction that he wants it to go. |
| 2:23.0 | What he does is he gives it what it needs and then gives it space. What it needs and then gives it space. |
| 2:31.0 | Now, what happens if the flower doesn't get all of that? It doesn't get the water that it needs. It doesn't get the right amount of sun. Maybe it gets too much sun. |
| 2:40.0 | Well, what happens is it doesn't grow to its full potential. |
| 2:47.0 | Now, what if, like I said, he's like, you know what? I don't want this flower to go straight up. I want this flower to kind of look like a little bit crooked. |
| 2:55.0 | And he goes there and every single day he starts to twist the flower a little bit, twist the flower a little bit, twist a little bit. He might break it, right? |
| 3:01.0 | What happens if he takes a mason jar and he flips a mason jar and he puts a mason jar on top of it and he restricts its growth. |
| 3:08.0 | Well, the flower is probably going to become weaker. He might kill the leaves that are on the flower. He might even kill the flower itself. |
| 3:17.0 | The gardener's job is to nurture it and nothing else. Not to change it, not to restrict it, but to nurture it. |
| 3:28.0 | Now, I want you to think about this for a second. I want you to think about this with your relationships. |
| 3:34.0 | First, let's talk about other people that are in your life and then I want to talk about you. I want to talk about other people first and then we're going to come back. We're going to talk about you in your relationships. |
