This week we've got this week that's kind of in between the end of call on heaven and the beginning of epicenter.

And so as I was praying and asking God, like what, where do you want us to go? Where do you want to take us this week week I sensed him leading me to this beautiful

little book tucked away in the Old Testament it's a short book it's only four

chapters 85 verses you could read the whole book in 10 minutes. I did it last night

and I'm a pretty slow reader so you might could do it faster than that and I have

been so excited to get here today to open up this book

together. So we're going to be looking at the book of Ruth. It's an incredibly

powerful and yet still somewhat unfamiliar book to many of us.

So if you have your copy of scripture, open it up and turn to the book of Ruth.

It's the eighth book of the Bible.

It comes right after the book of judges. And maybe you know a little

bit about Ruth, maybe you don't, but Ruth is regarded as the greatest short story of all time. It said that Benjamin Franklin, one of our founding fathers, who was also

an ambassador to France, was part of a literary society there. It's a group that spent all of their time looking and searching for

literary masterpiece in a group who really had no respect for the

scripture or for the God of the scripture.

And Franklin, without telling them, changed some of the names in the book of Ruth

and read them this story. And the group's response was overwhelming.
