Esther chapter 4, verse 14.

For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place,

but you and your father's house will perish.

And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this.

Probably the most famous verse, the most famous phrase from the book of Esther.

As Mordecai has informed Esther about the king's edict to destroy, annihilate all the Jews on a certain day.

And Esther is wrestling with what to do about this edict because she knows it would be risking her life to even try to go to the king and to attempt to persuade him to change an edict he'd made.

So Mordecai says to her, if you keep silent at this time, I love this phrase,

relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place.

Like the faith of Mordecai here, he knows God is going to save his people. He knows God's

going to be faithful to his promises, to his covenant with his people. He says relief and

deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will

perish, Mordecai says.

And who knows whether or not you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this.

Esther God has put you at this time and this place for the accomplishment of his purpose.

And you know the story. If you've read Esther,

you know the story. She risks her life after fasting and praying and calling others to fast and pray. She goes to the king and asks him to change the edict he's made.

In other words, she's faithful in the time and place in which God has put her.

So I think the way we pray according to this verse is pretty obvious.

God, we praise you because we know your purposes will be accomplished in the

world. We praise you that revelation and all that we read there will happen. And we say today,
