What we all face storms in life. Troubles we didn't expect and they may be minor inconvenience, rain when you were expecting us any day and left the car windows open.

There are other storms that come with such intensity and ferocity that you wonder how you're going to survive. Maybe a physical illness leading to disability or a difficult child or anger in your marriage or financial ruin.

For most marriages, I believe women are the emotional epicenter of the home. We have little cliches that reinforce that.

Like, you know, if mama ain't happy, no one's happy or the mom's the thermostat of the home, if she's in a good spot, we're all in a good spot.

And I think that just captures that idea that when there's emotional stability with mom, things are pretty much at peace.
