I'm Gail Strob and you're listening to She Explores. When I was young I was just so goofy and insecure and it took me a long time to have

that secure attachment to my own relationship with myself. So what age did you start to feel like you were stepping into your own?

Maybe like last year, no I'm just kidding.

Not until my late 20th did I really feel like I found my voice and was really confident with it.

This is Caroline Glyke. As an outsider looking in, I'd describe Caroline as a ski mountaineer and an environmental advocate.

I call myself an outsider because Caroline's pretty well known in the ski and greater outdoor community.

So while I'm the outsider looking in, I asked her how she described her work.

Well, I... her work? Well I would describe it, it's a good question. It's always

changing it's really fluid which I really like that and I would sort of like to think of it's like an intersection of adventure and activism and inspiration and I really want to tell a deeper story behind my adventures in the mountains and have it be more than just pretty pictures and videos.

Five years ago, a photo of her skiing was featured on the cover of Powder magazine.

In it, she looks like she's bursting out of the mountain, the snow glittering around her.

It was named Photo of the year by powder,

and Caroline's proud not just for being in it,

but for saying firm about how she was portrayed in it,
