The mayor of our city was attacked by officers under the direction of the

president of the United States. He was tear-gassed by, well we still don't

know. Apparently these are mostly people from Customs and Border Patrol. These are the people

who gleefully pour out bottles of water in the desert that are left for people who might be

dying as they're crossing a desert.

Those are the same people, right?

Ted Wheeler, our mirror, he said,

this is urban warfare tactics.

This is wrong.

He said, I'm not going to lie.

He said, it stings, it's hard-breathed and I can tell you with 100% honesty. I saw nothing which provoked this.

Senior DHS officials have said that they expect the violence associated with federal officers

showing up in democratically controlled cities to quote protect federal

buildings and monuments. They expect that violence to increase through the November elections,

after which it will presumably end.

Really?
