The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare, was the signature legislative achievement of President Barack Obama's first term.

It passed Congress in 2009 on a straight-line party vote, and ever since, Republican politicians

across the country have made repeal and replacement of Obamacare their mantra.

Now, with Republican Donald Trump set to move into the White House and the GOP controlling

both houses of Congress, is this the moment when repeal and

replace goes from pipe dream to policy? What will a Republican health care reform look like?

Obamacare has had its ups and downs since 2009 when it was passed and since 2012,

when the individual mandate was upheld by the Supreme Court. Over the summer, it was reported

that insurance companies were pulling out of the health care exchanges around the country

and leaving many residents so unsure
