The NCAA tournament was dominated by the women's NCAA tournament, in terms of controversy, but because the president of the United States was booked, arraigned in New York.

Let's break it all down. Story number one, an absolutely unprecedented day in the United States of America, the former president of the United States, Donald Trump, brought into court in New York City.

Surrounded by secret service agents, Trump reportedly sontered into into the courtroom slowly and glared at district attorney Alvin Bragg. I don't know if it's true, but I did see a tweet. So that means it's improbably true that Trump measured in at 61270.

I'm not sure if that's true. I think Trump is taller than six one. I'm almost six two and Trump is taller than me, but I would like a tale of the tape.

Donald Trump was arraigned on 34 felony counts, 34 felony counts over what in all reality is a bookkeeping misdemeanor.

As is always important to remind, this is about the Trump organization's ledger sheet on booking as legal expenses to Michael Cohen, non disclosure agreement payments made to stormy Daniels.

It is a misdemeanor in New York law to misidentify something on the ledger. And because there were 34 separate entities, Alvin Bragg turned this into 34 separate charges.

The great mystery is how he extended this beyond the statute of limitations because these payments all took place prior to 2019 with a two year statute of limitations on those misdemeanor, they would have overripened by 2021.

The other great mystery is how he intends to elevate these charges to a felony. In order to do so, there was a statement of fact read into the court. That statement of fact did not do an adequate job of laying out how these charges would transition from a misdemeanor into a felony.

There are three laws violated, elevating this bookkeeping error into a felony, one New York state campaign laws to federal campaign laws. And then he alludes to three Trump organizations, false business records, these allegations are not well supported neither in the statement of fact, the underlying indictment.

Nor in the quick press conference, Alvin Bragg gave after the Trump arraignment, he had the nerve for what it's worth to walk up to the podium and utter the following comment, quote, we cannot and will not normalize serious criminal conduct in New York.

That's what he said, Alvin Bragg with a straight face as felonies across the board, violent felonies are pledged down into misdemeanors are dismissed with probation are neglected to go charged.

We know the criminal justice system in New York City under the guidance of Alvin Bragg has fulfilled a George Soros vision of elected district attorneys across big cities in America.

Of declining to vigorously prosecute violent crime and yet Alvin Bragg says with a straight face, we cannot and will not normalize serious criminal conduct in New York.
