The co-chair of the Congressional

Progressive Caucus, he represents the second district of Wisconsin and the

U.S. House of Representatives. Congress from Pocan, what's going on in

Congress? What's on your mind today?

Yeah, hi Tom, very glad to be here with your listeners.

Yeah, I think the main thing on my mind is just this COVID package.

Unemployment extension ran out last week. Ev eviction protections run out this week and

we've got a lot of people still hurting through no fault of their own people who've lost

their job through no fault of their own small business owners who've lost

demand through no fault of their own and we still have unfortunately a raging pandemic raging

in the United States more than almost anywhere else because of the ineptitude and the negligence of this president.

So we've got to get this package done quickly. I don't think it's going to be this week.

I think it would be pretty tough. We're hoping it'll be next week. But we really

have to get something that puts people and workers first, not big business liability. And

for crying out loud, they have funding for F-35s in the Republican COVID

package. I miss that new feature of the F-35 that feeds people and pays your

rent but those are the sorts of crazy things the Republicans are proposing

during this pandemic.
