The judge in Trump's hush money trial says that jail time is on the table should the

former president continue to violate his gag order.

Daily Wire senior editor Cabot Phillips has latest.

Judge Juan Rashan also fined Trump another $1,000,

but conceded that it's, quote, clear clear the relatively small fines are not

effective and the going forward the court will consider a quote jail sentence

Judge Rashan imposed the gag order on Trump before the trial started saying

he could not make any public

statements about witnesses, counsel, court staff, or family members of those

involved in the case. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg along with

prosecutors have alleged over a dozen gag order violations

which to this point have resulted in $9,000 in fines. For their part, Trump and his

attorneys have argued that the gag order violates his First Amendment rights

as well as the First Amendment rights of his supporters. They say it's unfair to limit a former

president and presidential nominee in this way. Columbia University's

canceling plans to hold its main graduation ceremony later this month.
