President Trump has changed his policy on EU tariffs again.

Today, via social media, he indicated that he plans to hit all goods imported into the United States from the European Union

with 50% tariffs,

starting on June 1st. Last month, he originally set the tariff at 20%. That was then scaled back to 10%

to allow time for talk, said Mr Trump at the time. But today he exclaimed in a post,

quote, our discussions are going nowhere, end quote.

Well, the comment comes just ahead of scheduled trade talks between the two sides.

This is what the US Treasury Secretary Scott Besson said when he was speaking to Fox News today.

Many of the Asian countries have come with very good deals.

So they're 18 important trading partners.

And I would say with the exception of the EU, most are negotiating in very good faith.

These deals are moving quickly.

And I think as we approach the end of the 90-day period, we're going to see more and more of them announced.

Well, hear more on those EU tariffs in just a few minutes.

But Mr. Drum also threatened today to impose a 25% import tax on iPhones

because they're not manufactured in the US.

And in the past couple of hours, speaking to reporters at the White House,

he said that would also apply to other phone makers, including Samsung.
