Last night on this program, Lawrence brought you the breaking news that special counsel

Jack Smith and his team had handed over the first batch of evidence in the classified documents

case.

And today, we, along with Donald Trump and his legal team, are getting a better idea

of what that evidence actually is.

According to the filing for special counsel Smith and his prosecutors, that evidence includes

quote, interviews of defendant Trump conducted by non-government entities, which were recorded

with his consent and obtained by the special counsel's office during the investigation of

this case, including the July 21st, 2021 recorded interview, defendant Trump provided to

a publisher and writer quoted in part in the indictment.

Now, we can't save for sure whether that line refers to more privately recorded conversations

like the Bedminster 1, it references or Donald Trump's many, many public interviews on

the subject.

But regardless, it seems likely that a good chunk of the evidence in the case against Trump

is going to be his own words.

Also part of the evidence Smith turned over to Trump and his team is quote, the grand jury
