Former President Trump's China tariffs, along with Trump's promise to race tariffs even

higher in a second term, have put a renewed focus on US tax policy in general and trade

policy and it's raised some alarm bells among some economists. My guest today is

Scott Linsicum. He's the Cato Institute's Vice President of General

Economics. You guys know Cato is basically on the ideological spectrum in the Libertarian,

sort of very, very light government touch space and Scott recently

caught our eye with a great explainer in the dispatch titled tariff myths
