Donald Trump says he will make good on his campaign promise to impose sweeping tariffs on imports from China and other trading partners.

Daily Wire senior editor, Cabot Phillips, has the details.

Trump has long promised tariffs, and now he's getting set to impose them.

The president-elect said one of his first acts in office will be to impose new tariffs on China,

Canada, and Mexico.

He plans to issue executive orders setting a 25% tariff on goods from Canada and Mexico

and a 10% tariff on Chinese imports aimed at curbing drug trafficking and illegal immigration.

A statement on truth social, Trump said, quote,

this tariff will remain in effect

until such time as drugs,

in particular fentanyl,

and all illegal aliens stop this invasion of our country.

Both Mexico and Canada

had the absolute right in power

to easily solve this long simmering problem.

We hereby demand that they use this power,
