Here's some of today's top stories from the Los Angeles Times.

President Trump is blaming Tylenol for the rise in autism in the U.S.

At a news conference Monday, Trump said taking the popular pain reliever during pregnancy

increases the risk of autism and children.

He also took aim at childhood vaccines, urging parents to break up the measles mumps rebella shot into multiple doses,

and suggesting parents delay the hepatitis B vaccine up to 12 years. His sweeping statements

alarmed health experts across the country. Researchers say there's no strong evidence linking

Tylenol to autism. In fact, studies show that untreated fevers during pregnancy can actually increase the risk

of birth defects and miscarriage.

Appearing alongside Trump, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said the FDA is working

on new warning labels for Tylenol.

He also sent a letter to physicians urging them to minimize its use during pregnancy.

But doctors say the letter is much more mild and stops far short of Trump's claims.

Now, critics from across the health and research world say the administration is cherry-picking science,

and they fear his message to pregnant women

could have dangerous consequences. And in other news, a federal judge ordered the Trump

administration to restore more than half a billion dollars in UCLA medical research grants.

LA Times reporters say the Monday decision comes nearly two months after the university's funding was pulled,

with the administration accusing UCLA of anti-Semitism, using race and admissions, and recognizing transgender identities.
