As the government shutdown enters its fourth week, Donald Trump announcing, an anonymous donor has pledged $130 million to pay our troops.

Well, I guess that takes care of everything, right? That's good. Oh, no, wait. Politico reporting that to cover the salaries of our troops, $130 million will pay less than a day's worth

of salaries.

Well, nice try, Donald.

I guess that's why the donor was anonymous.

The Washington Post reporting that accepting the money would violate what is called

the Anti-Deficiency Act forbidding the federal government from allowing people to offer

free work beyond that appropriated by Congress, and it also forbids the president or any government

agency from finding ways to spend money that hasn't been

approved by Congress. For example, Ronald Reagan was barred from using federal money to fund the

contras and their war against the Sanninistas who were running Nicaragua at the time. So

Reagan wanted to fund the contras. He wanted to get rid of the Marxists in Nicaragua at the time. So Reagan wanted to fund the Contras.

He wanted to get rid of the Marxists in Nicaragua.

He sold weapons to Iran, used the profits off the books to fund the Contras.

He should have been impeached for that.

Presidents are not allowed to find other sources of funding for vanity projects like Central American

wars or remodeling the east wing of the White House.
