Trump promises big changes to social security.

But we're going to find out where that money's going and it's not going to be pretty.

The former head of the Social Security administration says government cuts could throw the system into chaos.

Today on the show, one pro-Trump businessman says new tariffs are affecting his supply chain.

Now he says he's looking at moving some production out of Mexico, but not to the U.S.

Also, the White House is holding a crypto summit Friday.

One of the big topics of discussion is an idea that the crypto industry lobbied for,

in which Trump floated over the weekend, establishing a strategic reserve of Bitcoin and other digital assets.

I mean, this is like a transfer of money from people who pay taxes to people who already own cryptocurrency.

That club includes members of Trump's cabinet, by the way, as well as his family.

More on that story in about 15 minutes.

But first, the Trump administration wants to cut thousands of jobs at the agency that disperses payments to retirees, people with disabilities, and other benefits to tens of

millions of Americans.

The Social Security Administration is already at its lowest staffing level in decades,

and employees tell NPR morale at the agency is extremely low.

And that was even before President Trump devoted a good chunk of his address to Congress on Tuesday

to making false statements

about widespread fraud in the program and dead people getting benefits.
