Hello and welcome to rock and roll politics the podcast with me Steve Richards. Thank you for tuning in wherever you are.

And as you can imagine, if it's okay with all of you, I will be reflecting on some of the more

timeless themes in the latest international crisis, America targeting Iran, with all kinds of possible potential

consequences. Now, here is a kind of revelation that won't surprise you. Podcasts are brilliant

at contextualizing in kind of delving deep and taking a theme where perhaps others can take, you know, in daily news reporting a more shallow approach and really going deep.

They are harder when there is a story of unpredictable but guaranteed

movement. In other words, some of you will be listening to this while running up Arthur's seat in

Edinburgh or along a coastal path in parts of the world that are so beautiful, I can just reflect on it with envy,

perhaps some days after I've recorded and who knows where we will be in the Middle East

with the global implications. And that is a huge problem when you are trying to record a podcast

which will kind of endure for several days because

some of you don't listen immediately. Some of you do. And if you subscribe to Patreon, you get it on

the day it's recorded, a kind of privilege worth a few pounds a month and without adverts.

But some of you listen later. So I try and always find themes that have a timeless quality, but I'm fully aware that things will

move fast in relation to what is happening with this, as I say, ongoing international crisis.
