this weekend, but it looks like it's off to an interesting start. Yeah, no question. And look,

the dinner I've been to a lot of, a number of times is really about honoring the First Amendment and the work of excellent journalists and journalism.

And there are awards given for that.

There are scholarships given to rising journalists.

That's what it's about.

That's what you celebrate, no matter who the president is.

But yes, it makes it a bit of a different night that Trump will be there speaking.

Well, Donald Trump's war with Iran goes on, but as of tonight, Donald Trump's fight against

the Federal Reserve Chair, Jerome Powell, is over.

We were just talking about this last night.

Today, the Trump Justice Department announced that it is dropping its pursuit of the Fed Chair Powell.

Now, interesting word pursuit was federal charges, but we're using the word pursuit because

it wasn't really an investigation into anything.

And that's according to a federal judge who last month blocked the Justice Department subpoenas of Powell,

writing in a 27-page ruling, quote,

there is abundant evidence that the subpoenas dominant, if not sole purpose, is to harass and pressure Powell, either to

yield to the president or to resign and make way for a Fed chair who will. On the other side of the

scale, the government has offered no evidence whatsoever that Powell committed any crime
