Summary

Millions of voters in England, Wales and Scotland will head to the polls today.

There are council elections in England, while devolved parliaments are up for grabs in Scotland and Wales, as well as six local mayoralties in London.

Donald Trump has once again claimed the war with Iran is nearing an end – saying a peace agreement will be made and the conflict will be "over quickly".

The president has been bullish throughout the war, saying the US is dominating, but details of a leaked memo from the White House might suggest otherwise.

A British hantavirus patient has told Sky News he is isolating in hospital after being evacuated from the cruise ship at the centre of the outbreak.

US secretary of state Marco Rubio will have his work cut out for him today as he heads to Rome to meet the Pope after weeks of back-and-forth between the leader of the Catholic Church and Mr Trump.

Iran's football chief has said he wants assurances that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps will not be insulted by the US during the World Cup this summer.

Sophy and Wilf have the day's news in just 10 minutes.
