Donald Trump famously promised during his campaign to end the conflict in Ukraine within 24 hours of taking office.

I don't know how many hours have passed since its inauguration in January,

but 100 days are coming up and a peace deal remains elusive. So elusive that President Trump

says he's prepared to walk away from negotiations. He was asked about comments by the U.S.

Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, that America will stop trying to broker an agreement between Russia and Ukraine if there are no signs of progress in the next few days.

No specific number of days, but quickly, we want to get it done 2,500 a week of being killed in battle.

It's a vicious battle, and we're going to get it stopped ideally.

Now, if for some reason one of the two parties makes it very difficult,

we're just going to say you're foolish, you're fools, you're horrible people,

and we're going to just take a pass, but hopefully we won't have to do that.

And earlier today, the Kremlin's spokesman, Dmitri Peskov, insisted that Russia was

earnestly seeking a way to put negotiations on.

Ongoing contacts are quite complicated because, naturally, the topic of a peace settlement in Ukraine is not an easy one.

Russia is committed to resolve in this conflict, ensuring its own interests and is open to dialogue.

And earlier today or rather asked about Mr Rubio's comments, a member of Ukraine's parliament, Kira Ruddick,

told the BBC she wasn't surprised that US efforts to broker a peace deal involving Russia

have been unsuccessful.

This is what we anticipated at the very beginning when President Trump promised to end

the war in 24 hours and then in hundreds of days.

Because we were clearly asking what are the ways that the United States can use to pressure Russia?
