Donald Trump said he's not going to sign any bills until the SAVE Act passes the Senate.

So by threatening to block other bills, he's basically telling Congress election security comes first.

Politically, it's going to push Republicans to unify around voter ID and forces Democrats to publicly oppose it before the next election cycle.

This is a pressure tactic on Congress, not just a policy push.

Yeah, this is a great move by Trump because he wins either way.

Either way on this, he wins.

Because if he puts pressure on Congress by saying, hey, I'm not signing any bills until you get this SAVE Act passed.

Great. And if they actually do it and pass the SAVE Act, wonderful. We've got national

voter ID laws. And if they don't pass it, this is an 80-20 issue, again, where the Democrats

are on the side of the 20. The vast majority of Americans, by the way, of both political

parties, of every ethnicity, every income level, by the way, of both political parties, of every ethnicity,

every income level, across the board, all Americans agree that voter ID is a great idea

and is something that should be in place on the national level.

So if they can't get this passed, then this is just a fantastic campaign talking point for

the midterms coming up in

November, because Donald Trump can sit here and say the Democrats are all for illegals voting

and unsecure elections and voter fraud, and I tried to get the Save Act passed, and they

wouldn't push it through. Now, the problem with actually getting it pushed through is, as always, the Senate, because in the Senate, you need 60 votes or else you get a filibuster.

So you need those 60 votes, and there's no way that the Democrats are going to vote for this because they know it's going to potentially harm them in future elections.

Hey, we couldn't even get all the Republicans on board with this.

There were a couple of Republicans that haven't fully committed to this,

but it's really been the Democrats that are going to keep it from happening.
