Good morning. It's September 6th. First, it was Los Angeles, then it was Washington, D.C.

Now it's Chicago that's bracing for the possible deployment of unwanted, unasked for, and unwelcome federal troops and a surge of hostile ice incursions

around the city. Illinois Governor J.B. Prisker and Chicago's Mayor Brandon Johnson have spent the

past week warning and preparing residents for what might lie ahead. Temporary fencing has been

erected around the federal courthouse in downtown Chicago in anticipation of protests, and a popular annual

festival tied to the celebration of Mexican Independence Day has been postponed due to concerns

that it could be a target of ice raids. Last night on the briefing with Jen Saki, Governor Pritzker

spoke about the president's threats to send in troops into his state and the danger that it poses

to the entire country.

It's, I believe, a nefarious plan. It's one that's been repeated over and over again by,

well, tyrannical dictatorships across history, where you try to incite local population into some mayhem by sending in police or other

disruptors, and then claim that there's too much mayhem on the ground, and therefore there must

be troops that are sent in. And that's how you basically convert a democracy into something other

than that.

This is an important point that we need to pick up on.

There are two things going on here.

There's the federalizing of troops in cities, and then there's the provocation and

incitement that this may be used, that may be used to justify continued occupation.

American cities probably isn't going to end with Chicago. There's Boston, New York, Baltimore, New Orleans,

Portland, Philadelphia, Oakland, Seattle, and San Francisco. They've all been put on notice,
