Six years have passed since I last stood in this grand hall and addressed a world that was

prosperous and at peace in my first term. President Donald Trump has just addressed world leaders

at the United Nations General Assembly in New York in a lengthy

and digressive speech. He repeated his claim of ending seven wars, though a CNN analysis

found some of those deals are closer to ceasefires than peace agreements that permanently end

generational disputes, and he said he never received any help from the UN and questioned its purpose out loud.

Trump said the momentum for recognition of a Palestinian state was a, quote, reward for Hamas,

and argued that they need to release the hostages to end the war.

And on the Russia and Ukraine war, Trump said he wouldn't impose tougher sanctions on Moscow

until European nations stopped buying
