Donald Trump's trade war has been struck down, only to come back more powerful than his

foes could imagine. That at least is how the president has framed in the last few days,

the U.S. Supreme Court's issued ruling that undoes a swathe of tariffs he has levied

on trade partners around the globe. According to the nation's top judges, Trump overstepped

his authority in unilaterally imposing tolls under emergency powers without congressional approval.

In response, he has said he will impose new tolls without congressional

approval and that they may be even higher than before, with $175 billion of revenue on the line,
