Hello, from CNN. I'm Joe Beck, with the five things you need to know for Monday, January 20th.

It's inauguration day for President-elect Donald Trump, and he's promising to hit the ground

running. This morning, he's meeting with President Joe Biden, before the pair ride to the

capital rotunda together for Trump to be sworn in. But Trump's team are already looking ahead

to after the ceremony, and at a rally last night,

he outlined some of his priorities for his first hours back in the White House, including

immigration, TikTok, energy policy, and government operations.

The curtain closes on four long years of American decline, and we begin a brand new day of American

strength and prosperity, dignity, and pride.

CNN's Elena Trine has more on what Trump's team is saying about today.

They want this to be like a shock to the system trying to get into, you know, exactly

really showing the

country how seriously was about living into these promises on day one. Now, as for his mood today,

you know, just looking at some of the excerpts we have of his speech and what I'm being told

about what he's going to be talking about, he does want it to be more unifying is what they

have said, that he wants to try to talk about bringing the country together,

very different from what we heard eight years ago during that American carnage-like speech.
