Summary

While Bill is on a research and writing sabbatical for the next 6 weeks we decided it’s important to revisit the horrors we laid out in our Project 2025 podcast series, Trump's Project 2025: Up Close and Personal – and tie them to what’s actually happened so far. Chapter Two depicts the personal story of Eve, a nurse struggling with infertility, whose treatment is threatened by the new president's actions. The episode explores how the president's policies are impacting everyday Americans, particularly women and families, by interfering with reproductive freedom and the right to self-determination. The author of the serialized novel “2025,” upon which this podcast series is based, David Pepper, highlights how the fictional story is turning into fact, underscoring the very real and devastating consequences a second Trump term and the implementation of Project 2025 are having. You can read Chapter Two of David Pepper’s “2025: A Novel” at davidpepper.substack.com/p/2025-a-novel-chapter-2

We'd like to thank all the artists who volunteered their time to make this episode. J. Smith Cameron read the chapter and audio finishing by Marilys Ernst. This series is produced by David Pepper, Melissa, Jo Peltier and Jay Feldman. Trump’s Project 2025: Up Close and Personal is a production of Ovington Avenue Productions and the Bill Press Pod.

Hello, good friends. I don't have to tell you that we live in troubled times.

0:12.5

Every day is like another five-alarm fire as Donald Trump and co-president Elon Musk go about

destroying our democratic institutions one at a time. In a way,

0:24.5

it comes as no surprise. Remember, it's just what we talked about in our special podcast series on

0:31.2

Project 2025 last fall. But we still didn't think it would get this bad, this fast.

0:38.3

In fact, Trump and Musk have already done so much damage to government agencies, to the courts, to the media, to foreign aid, to healthcare, and more.

0:48.3

It will take us decades to recover. But they're not satisfied. They brag about the fact that they're just getting started.

0:56.3

So we decided it was a good time to take a little time out, to revisit the damage we predicted

1:03.2

in our Project 2025 podcast series, and to tie what we talked about back then to what's actually

happening today. Now, here's what's

scary. As you may recall, our podcast last fall about what might happen under Project

And you know, more are sure to follow.

So for the next few weeks, while I'm off on a research and writing sabbatical in Europe,

1:43.4

we're going to rerun our Project 2025 episodes to show how, under Donald Trump, and Elon Musk,

yesterday's feared fiction has become today's dreaded reality.

Once again, we'll be joined by author of the Project 2025 series, our good friend, former Ohio

State Democratic Chair, David Pepper.

Now, the reason we're doing this is because we really hope that another look at the

Trump has already done to our democratic institutions, will encourage even more people to stand up
