We are leading off Punch Bowl News a.m.'s The Top.

With a look at how during a recess week,

it has been very busy, mainly because President Donald Trump continues to push his authority

and infringe on Congress at basically every turn with lawmakers back in their districts

are scattered around the globe. Trump told the independent Federal Reserve that it should lower interest rates.

He signed an executive order to begin shuddering the Department of Education.

Trump backed Israel's renewed military campaign against Hamas and Gaza.

The president then threatened war with Iran.

He had also sent a letter to the Iranians offering talks on a new nuclear deal.

He also spoke to both the Russian and Ukrainian presidents in a less than successful attempt

to hash out a ceasefire between the warring nations. Trump ordered the release of the JFK

assassination files, which shed little new light on Kennedy's murder.

He stripped secret service protection from former President Joe Biden's son and daughter.

And Bloomberg reported Trump will announce today who will build America's next generation fighter jet.
