Welcome to our midweek nightcap.

It is day 24 of the second Trump administration. And as usual,

take a breath. A lot happened today and we need to talk about all of it. Just hours ago, a federal judge

removed his hold on the administration's plan to get two million government employees to resign.

The judge said the unions representing workers did not have legal standing

to get the injunction they were asking for. At the White House, President Trump said he spoke

with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the phone today about ending that country's war in Ukraine.

President Trump also said the two men will visit one another's nations and maybe more. Watch this.

We ultimately expect to meet. In fact, we expect that he'll come here and I'll go there.

And we're going to meet also probably in Saudi Arabia the first time. We'll meet in Saudi Arabia

see if we get something done. But we want to end that war. That war is a disaster.

By the way, a few minutes after that, Trump said the education department should be closed

immediately, calling it, quote, a con job. The Department of Education, flawed as it may be,

a con job. President Trump said he also spoke to Ukrainian president Zelensky today

about ending the war. Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are set to meet

with Zelensky Friday in Munich. Defense Secretary Pete Hagseth told our NATO allies today and pay
