Our country has been doing a lot of things that not everyone agrees with and it's causing a lot

of controversy.

And that is the nation state of Venezuela, where the question of regime change arises,

the question of sort of teasing into war arises, due process with respect to the missiles being shot at these various boats,

the second strike that appears to have killed two apparent survivors of a boat strike back in September,

all sorts of issues.

And now we have the seizure by our government of an oil tanker.

These are all interesting things as a matter of geopolitics, domestic politics,

foreign relations, but they are also interesting, Joyce, ask questions of law. They are.

Why do we take the tanker and was that lawful? Yeah, I mean, you know, it starts with the assertion

by the administration that what has long been the business of law enforcement and of drug intervention, frequently using the Coast Guard, right, because typically the FBI doesn't have a lot of boats on the water.

But anyhow, what's typically drug interdiction treated in the criminal courts, they've tried to convert that into war,

into what this administration calls a non-international armed conflict. And the administration

went to the Office of Legal Counsel and got an order that purported to cover the legality
