Donald Trump going to the White House Correspondence Dinner.

Now, this is this Beltway ritual. It goes back to Calvin Coolidge and Trump pays the press.

So he's not going to go to some dinner in his first term. He just completely boycotted. In fact,

he did more than that. He would hold rallies at the same time that the dinner was going on to try to

detract attention from this gathering. So why the change of heart? Well, part of it is

obviously, I mean, here he is in the middle of, you know, fighting along with Israel, this explosive

war in the Middle East. And he says, in honor of the nation's 215th birthday, and because these

correspondents now admit that I am in honor of the nation's 250th birthday, and because these correspondents now admit

that I am truly one of the greatest presidents in the history of our country, the GOAT,

and here comes the caps, he's going to make it the greatest, hottest, and most spectacular

dinner of any kind ever.

Now, over the years, obviously, the dinner has taken its knocks for being too celebrity

obsessed.

It's called nerd prom.

The reason it's such a big deal here, honestly, is twofold.

One is, it's a pretty nice dinner.

And for me, at least, in the years that I went,

you know, you would have access to top administration officials, you know, background, off the record,

whatever, who ordinarily you couldn't get on the phone, who you couldn't get to see. And the
