Donald Trump's inauguration is about to take place, and we know a lot of what to expect. A crowd on the National Mall. It's going to be cold as hell in Washington, D.C.

There's going to be a speech. There's going to be an oath of office. There are going to be

fancy balls. But I really want to spend a little bit of time talking about, you know,

beyond the pomp and circumstance, what is the real meaning of this moment and what's the importance

and what is at stake, if anything, for Donald Trump as we look at the next four years?

So, Sarah, let me dive in with you.

I mean, what is important here, if anything, in this moment?

How is this going to fit into the four-year

journey that Donald Trump is about to go on? One thing I've been really interested in, and I just

don't remember this feeling from any previous presidential transition, is this feeling like

Donald Trump started his presidency weeks before his inauguration.

And I'll give you two examples.

One, he went on truth social or whatever and announced the creation of the external

revenue service, right?

He's going to have the internal revenue service, the IRS.

And then based on his plan for tariffs, he's creating this external revenue service.

I just don't remember past President-elects announcing real sort of in the weeds changes

like that.

So that's number one, the sense that he's already started to hit the ground.

And number two, of course, is the negotiated ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, where it's not only a sense that Donald Trump is the one who got it over the line, but in fact, it was his team that was in the room.
