At any moment now, Kevin Warsh will address the Senate Banking Committee as it considers his

nomination to become the next chairman of the Federal Reserve.

Lawmakers, especially Democrats, will want to know if Warsh can remain independent from

President Trump and his pressure.

That independence is considered essential for the credibility of U.S. monetary policy.
