Hey, everybody. Welcome back to the Find Out podcast. We've got to start off with an apology. We did not drop an episode on Thursday because Luke, Zach and I were at NetRutes Nation in New Orleans, meeting with a bunch of progressive activists and, you know, had a really, really important meetings and discussions. And I think we got a lot of big plans. And part of the reason that Zach's now here is that he's working on a top secret project that we'll be able to talk about in a few weeks and and Chris is actually off

0:41.1

with his family for some well-deserved time off so you're going to have to just deal with me

0:46.1

Rich and Luke this week but just to kick off Luke this was your first conference ever attending

0:51.3

like a political conference before just curious what you thought it was an

0:55.2

experience like i had never been in a spot that had so many like straight up like minded individuals

1:00.4

i mean i don't think i could have said something that they disagree with that someone in there

1:04.9

disagreed with everybody in there is like fighting for their own individual thing and it's like

1:09.2

all stuff that really really matters it's pretty fucking cool but wait i was told that the left is hyper focused on canceling

1:17.1

everybody and you have to be really careful with what you say and that you're not allowed to

1:20.8

have any opinions about anything because you just don't say fucking slurs and hatred nobody's got

1:25.5

a problem with you crazy i know i know. I mean, like for us,

1:29.3

those are deeply held beliefs, Luke. Deeply held beliefs. Um, you know, we, uh, we had some,

1:35.8

you know, when I, we started white dudes for Harris, we had some reservations about the community.

1:39.5

Because, you know, obviously for, for good reasons. And it's been really great to see everybody,

1:43.8

the progressive community has sort of welcomed us with open arms. And, you know, even at the, at the conference, I mean, Luke, you had several people come up to you who treated you like, they knew you. I think my name is actually Shane. Yes. A guy came up to me and said I was Shane. And I was like, okay, sure. Didn't quite nail it, but it was good.

2:01.3

He stopped the landing.

2:02.5

We took a picture.

2:03.8

Yeah, yeah.

2:04.5

We had some really good conversations.

2:06.0

We talked with Minnesota Attorney General Keith Allison, who was great.

2:09.6

We talked to Representative Justin Pearson from Memphis, who was one of the two members of the legislature that got kicked out for basically protesting for stronger gun laws. It was great to talk to him. So it was really a good shot in the arm of energy. And I think for those of you wondering, like, is anyone coming to save us? There are a lot of people who are working on this. We say we, but really, Mr. Interview Extraordinary here was the one that was yapping with all these people.

3:11.4

It was pretty insane. Tim was like, wham! He was in there, you know, real good work. I mean, he's our Beltway insider, you know, so this is like he gets in there. They have like a super secret hand shake or some shit. You know, when you do this long enough, sometimes some of it gets a little easier. I think they just tap their feet under the edge of the stall when they're in the bathroom at the conferences, and that's how it gets. I didn't see any Republican senators at this. Like, you might be referring to. They don't even go to their own fucking town halls. They're not going to come to something like this. That's true. That's true. But it was fun to be in New Orleans, great community, great progressive community. I think a lot, a lot of people are gearing up for a big fight next year. So stay tuned on that.
