0:28.6	Ahead of the November 5th presidential election, as we all know, Donald Trump and
0:32.4	Kamala Harris are campaigning hard in a handful of swing states Pennsylvania
0:36.6	Michigan Wisconsin North Carolina Nevada Arizona and Georgia
0:41.8	Even the most plugged in US political experts cannot predict the outcome.
0:46.3	Back in November 2020 there was another cliffhanger election and Georgia was the key to Joe Biden's victory when the votes were
0:55.1	counted President Donald Trump was more than 11,000 short in Georgia. Trump called the key state election
1:01.8	official a Republican called Brad Raffensberger,
1:05.2	and demanded Raffensberger should miraculously find 11,000 or so votes for Trump.
1:11.5	Trump would therefore win the state and the presidency.
1:15.2	Raffensberger, however, put country above party.
1:18.0	He politely refused the president's request and certified Joe Biden winning in Georgia.
1:23.5	Biden won the 2020 presidential election.
1:27.2	But that astonishing telephone call between Trump and Raffinsberger was recorded. It forms part of unprecedented
1:35.3	and unresolved criminal charges against President Trump.
1:38.7	He and his alleged accomplices are charged with attempting to steal the 2020 election.
1:44.4	Ironic you may think when Trump accuses President Biden of doing the stealing.
1:49.4	One result was the violent Washington capital riots by Trump supporters in January 2021.
1:56.0	And so Georgia is again a key 2024 battleground in politics and in the courts.
