| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the lead, I'm Erica Hill in for Jake Tapper. We begin this hour with breaking |
| 0:10.4 | news of flurry of activity in Georgia today, including a brand new legal filing just moments |
| 0:15.8 | ago from former White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows. These are live pictures here |
| 0:20.5 | of the Fulton County jail. Today, the first of Donald Trump's co-defendants surrendered |
| 0:26.2 | and were arrested among them former Trump lawyer John Eastman, who was released after |
| 0:31.0 | being processed, fingerprinted, and having his mugshot taken. Scott Hall was actually the |
| 0:35.8 | first to turn himself in this morning. Hall was charged over his alleged involvement |
| 0:40.3 | in the breach of voting machines. As for Eastman, as you may recall, he served as Trump's |
| 0:45.3 | lawyer and advised the former president on ways to stop Congress from certifying the |
| 0:50.4 | 2020 election results. And as we just mentioned here at the top of the hour, a moment ago |
| 0:54.5 | another co-defendant, Mark Meadows, filed a request for an emergency court order. He's |
| 0:59.9 | trying to avoid being arrested while he fights to have this case moved from Fulton County |
| 1:04.6 | Georgia into federal court. Meadows, Trump, and the other defendants all have until |
| 1:09.6 | noon on Friday to turn themselves in. We do expect the former president, though, to do |
| 1:14.3 | so before then. In fact, he announced on Truth Social. He'll be going to Atlanta on Thursday |
| 1:20.2 | to be arrested. CNN's Caitlin Polens is outside the Fulton County Courthouse talk about |
| 1:25.3 | a busy day in Atlanta. Bring us up to speed on all these developments today, Caitlin. |
| 1:32.4 | A flurry of activity here, Erica, is putting it likely more like a blizzard, even though |
| 1:36.4 | it's quite hot out here in Atlanta. What's happening is that there are 10 defendants that |
| 1:41.2 | we know at the least who are negotiating their bond or have negotiated their bond already |
| 1:46.4 | with the District Attorney's Office here so that they can be arrested quite smoothly or |
| 1:51.2 | hopefully for their hope, smoothly, as they go through the jail system for their arrest. |
