Hi, it's Audie, live from CNN's Turner Hall at the Republican National Convention. And I just want to note that we recorded today's conversation, just hours before the news

broke, that Ohio Senator Republican J.D. Vance would be Donald Trump's vice presidential

nominee. We're going to cover that development and a whole lot more this upcoming Thursday.

But for now, here's our show.

On Saturday, American Life had another brush with history. Our latest moment of,

Where Were You When? The assassination attempt on Donald Trump, which killed one attendee

at a Pennsylvania rally and resulted in just minor injuries to the candidate.

But it also had a major effect on politics, including all around me here at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

So here to talk about it is Kristen Holmes.

She's, of course, a friend of the show, but she covers the Trump campaign for CNN.
