At a rally in rural Pennsylvania, former President Trump came within

millimeters of his life. The Republican nominee for president this November was just starting

his rally speech when a staccato of gunfire rang out. A subtle turn of the head at the very

last moment cost Trump the top of his ear instead of his life.

If you saw it in a movie, you wouldn't believe it. But nothing happens in a vacuum, not even

an assassination attempt. And just two days later, a bandaged candidate Trump emerged to thunderous

applause on the floor of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. Moments later, he stood next to his newly picked nominee for vice president.

The 39-year-old bestselling author turned Ohio Senator J.D. Vance.

And that was just night one of the convention.
