The humiliation of Ukraine's president Vladimir Zelensky at the White House on Friday was disturbing to watch.

But here's the thing. Is this really a massive departure from US foreign policy?

Or is it just that Donald Trump is dropping the pretenses and revealing the hideous bullying nature of US power that has defined the world ever since it's been dominated by the US.

Let's look back at the disturbing argument which broke out, in which Zelensky was clearly
