Hello listeners it is Thursday February 23rd 2017 I'm Scott Bland your host and

you're listening to Politico's nerd cast Things were a little calmer this week at the White House, though there was almost nowhere

to go but calmer after last week's resignations and that wild press conference, but we're going to

talk about this past week in the context of what it's setting up for next week and next month

and the next year.

Trump has focused on executive action so far, and now on the eve of his first big address

to Congress, he wants Congress to start moving some big policy items.

So we'll be looking into what's next for those big legislative plans, the future of the conservative

movement under this administration, and also some of the special elections, that's right, more elections coming

up in 2017 and how Democrats are really eager to jump into them the same way that they have jumped

into protests and town halls around the country.
