We turn now to this first ever racketeering indictment of defendant Donald Trump and 18

co-conspirers in Georgia. DA Willis's case is broad. It's tough. It is bad news for defendant Trump

and the co-defendants. And later tonight, we're actually going to present to you two new original

beat special reports with our reporting and revelations drawn from this very exhaustive indictment.

So we have that coming up in our coverage. I'll actually be with you for this special coverage

across two hours from now through a PM Eastern tonight. Right now, we begin with the facts

and the legal process as it unfolded. You're seeing the exact legal process here as transparently

presented. This is what open court looks like, a contrast to earlier federal indictments,

multiple cameras taking the public inside that historic criminal proceeding. The grand jury

voted a charge. Then the 98 page indictment was walked over. You see some of this here and delivered

to the court clerk. And then that is stamped and signed the historic document being formally

processed. It was then in court that you see them walking in with it. It was presented

to the presiding judge, the clerk walking the indictment into the courtroom for the judge to

review and sign the cameras, chronicling this legal, national history as it was made.

All we could tell was that it was printed on letter-sized white paper and seemed to be about

that thick and had a few different striations to it in terms of the way it was divided with

binder clips. All eyes, as you can see, on Fulton County in the courthouse, grand jury reportedly

poised to indict former president Trump. And what we just saw was the judge reviewing that indictment.

This sweeping 41-count indictment accuses defendant Trump of running a criminal conspiracy

in enterprise and alleges that they engaged in various related criminal activities together.

Prosecutors assert that Trump and allies had this long running multi-pronged racketeering plot.
