Good afternoon from Washington. I'm Chuck Todd and this is the Chuck Todd cast on today's

show we get three big areas we want to delve into. One is how President Trump essentially

keeps the Republican Party together on culture even as he divides the party pretty much

on anything else. Then again, is this the only thing keeping the party together? Think

abortion, think race and immigration. And later revenge of the center, pundit whiplash,

Joe Biden was supposed to be a disaster when he got in and then all of a sudden he's an unstoppable

front runner. But more importantly, what happened to the race to the left that everybody predicted

at the start of this year? We're not seeing that in this Democratic primary. And then finally,

what the hell would you question? Congressional Democrats do every day. They launch a new subpoena.

But what is their priority? What are they trying to accomplish? Is just this throwing subpoena

spaghetti at the wall seeing what sticks? What do they need to come up with some sort of blueprint

and strategy with me today? Peter Baker, the chief White House correspondent for the New York Times

culture thing was a reminder today, it was, it was interesting in the last 48 hours.

You have John Corne and criticizing, and I'm going to use John Corne as an example because he

had John Corne as a Republican Senator up for election in 2020. He's no fan of tariffs. He's

really nervous about the straight war. But he put out an email fundraising yesterday worrying about

Chick-fil-A. The point is the only thing that keeps this party together. And I think the abortion

law in Alabama is going to test a lot of things. I want to get into that in a minute. Culture,

culture, culture, every day the president's Twitter feed is about culture, Alexi.

Yeah, I mean, we've seen this from the president since the beginning. He loves tapping into
