Good evening. I'm Catherine Rampel in for Stephanie Ruhl. Tonight, White House

Press Secretary Caroline Lovett announced that tomorrow night, at 9 o'clock, President Donald

Trump will address the nation about the war in Iran. Earlier today, Trump made some pronouncements that may sound

a teeny bit familiar. He told the New York Post that, quote, we're not going to be there much

longer. He said the U.S. is obliterating the shit out of them right now. And he told Axios that the

negotiations with Iran are going well. And this afternoon,

Trump said that he thought the U.S. would be done with the war in—stop me if you've heard

this one before—two or three weeks. So let's be clear about something. Trump has been

repeating some version of these claims almost daily at this point, regardless of what's actually happening

on the ground in Iran, and even as he sends more military personnel to the region. Trump is also,

meanwhile, needlessly antagonizing our allies. Over on social media, he had a suggestion for

countries like the UK that rely on the

Strait of Hormuz to get jet fuel, but didn't join the U.S. and Israeli attack on Iran.

He said, build up some delayed courage, go to the straight and just take it.

As Trump put it, quote, the hard part is done. Go get your own oil.
